All FIGURE 8 CLASSES

  • 1. Tow hooks or chains are mandatory on front and back of car. 1" lug nuts are required.
  • 2. Drivers window net and window screen required.
  • 3. Firewall behind motor and in front of trunk.
  • 4. Drive shaft must be painted white along with a drive shaft loop on the front half of the drive shaft.
  • 5. All brakes must work and will be checked.
  • 6. Battery can be in any location as long as it is securely mounted to car or roll cage. Must be completely covered if not under hood. Battery must be mounted inside the frame rails and bumpers.
  • 7. Must have inspection hole in trunk or be able to open trunk.
  • 8. Full face helmets are required. Neck braces are required. Racing suits, shoes, and gloves are highly recommended. Must have long sleeve shirt and pants minimum. No shorts or sandals.
  • 9. All glass and lights must be removed. No protruding or loose metal. No sharp edges. Cutting of fenders is allowed for tire clearance only.
  • 10. All cars must have a 2 or 3 sided sign on top of car that has car number visible to the scorers. Min. of 10" by 10".

 

STOCK CLASS

  • 1. Stock will mean stock unless otherwise stated in the rules. If it doesn't say you can do it, that means you can't.
  • 2. Plate steel is allowed under seat up to engine compartment for driver safety. No bars in engine compartment or no bars in trunk. Only bars in trunk will be for fuel cell or part of roll cage. All bars must be a min of 12" from rear fender wells.
  • 3. SNOW TIRES ARE LEGAL. Max treadwidth of 9". No studded tires.  May use racing wheels.
  • 4. 2 barrell carburetors only. Max of 1" spacer allowed. Stock intake and exhaust. No headers. Engine must be totally stock and in stock position. No aluminum intakes.
  • 5. Frame may be X braced under driver and behind rearend only.
  • 6. No ballast allowed.
  • 7. Transmission must be stock with a working converter.
  • 8. Fuel cells are highly recommended. May use stock gas tank but must be in trunk. Boat tanks are allowed. No gas cans.
  • 9. No reinforcement of frame. Bumpers must be stock and be capped with 14 gauge metal or less. Metal not to be over 12".
  • 10. Supports of radiator may be of light metal or pipe. May not be used for reinforcement. If you have excessive metal that is not needed to hold radiator, you will not be allowed to run. Straps are recommended to hold in radiator.
  • 11.  1" x 2"  rub rails will be allowed on side of car.  Must be hollow and only 1 allowed on each side of car.

OPEN CLASS RULES

  • 1. Car must have a stock frame. Rear end must be mounted in stock location with stock type mounts. Control arms must be stock.  Must be mounted in stock location and be stock length.  Rearend mounts may not be adjusted to get extra pinion angle.  Control arms may be reinforced.  Frame behind wheel wells may be replaced and reinforced.
  • 2. 4-point roll cage required with min. of 3 horizontal door bars. Racing seat and 4-point harness are required. Must be attached to cage.
  • 3. Beadlocks are legal.
  • 4. Fuel cell required. Must have roll over valve.
  • 5. Ballast and weight jacks are legal. Must be painted white with car number written on the weight.
  • 6. Tranny coolers are legal.
  • 7. No aluminum motors.  Aluminum heads ok.
  • 9.  ***8" wheel only.  Spec tire will be announced later.***DEPENDING ON ADEL & INDIANOLA WHEEL & TIRE  RULE FOR 2008***
  • 10.  One shock per wheel and one spring per wheel.
  • 11.  5" spoiler maximum
  • 12.  Water coolers ok.
  • 13.  No panhard bars, traction bars, torque links, or any other device.
  • 14.  9" rear ends and floaters ok.  Stock rear ends legal.  Quick changes will be allowed as long as they are mounted with stock control arms.  After market arms ok as long as they are stock length. 
  • 15.  No traction control in msd.  Detroit lockers are legal.
  • 16.  No grooveing or siping of tires.
  • 17.  All suspension parts must be in stock location except for shocks can be mounted in other than stock location on each wheel.
  • 18.  Both rear springs must be on top of rear end and in same location on each side.
  • 19.  All cars may be reinforced.
  • 20.  If it doesn't say it don't do it.  All cars that have anything that a normal oval stock car doesn't have on it  will not be legal unless outlayed in the rules above.
  • 21.  Bumpers don't have to be stock.

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CLASS RULES

  • 1. Car must be strictly stock. 4 and 6 cylinder only. No full size cars.
  • 2. Fuel tank may be left in stock location. Highly recommended to put boat tank or fuel cell in trunk. Must be securely mounted with complete firewall. 
  • 3. Must have halo with 2 kickers. 4 point roll cage is highly recommended.
  • 4. Racing seat and belts are encouraged. Stock belt with lap belt required.
  • 5. No extra reinforcement allowed unless between wheels on drivers side.
  • 6. Wheels and tires must be stock. Snow tires are legal.
 

STOCK CLASS RULES

  • 1. Rearend can be ot other make as long as it is out of a car. No truck rearends. Rearend may be welded. May use aftermarket springs and shocks. Hardened axles are allowed.
  • 2. Car must have a minimum of a 4-point roll cage. Must ahve minimum of 3 horizontal bars on drivers side and recommended on passenger side.
  • 3. Racing seat and 4-point harness are required. Both must be attached to roll cage.
  • 4. Motors must pull minimum of 15" of vacuum at 1000 rpms and 2000 rpms.  Must have line assessable for tech officials. Maximum cylinder compression of 175 lbs.
  • 5. Aluminum radiator is allowed.
  • 6. Aftermarket pulleys and fans are legal.
  • 7. Aftermarket 2 barrel is legal.
